As women's influence grows in the social and cultural sphere, an increasing number of television programs are trying to win the hearts of the female audience.

Elle atTV, a fashion channel, is offering programs targeting the tastes of women in their 20s and 30s, who are interested in love, marriage and career success.

This spring season sees ``Accidentally on Purpose,'' ``2Rooms,'' and ``Being Erica'' being shown.

The popular romantic sitcom, ``Accidentally on Purpose'' which was aired on CBS in the United States, deals with an intriguing story revolving around a man and a woman who have many differences. The sitcom has been in the U.S. since last year, and is being broadcast for the first time in Korea. About 9 million viewers saw the first episode in the U.S. It is expected to be hugely popular among Korean single women as it reflects the local ``cougar'' trend of older women who pursue younger men. The show airs at 11 p.m. every Tuesday.

The talk show ``2Rooms'' is about women who want to overcome conflicts with their boyfriends. In each show, three men and three women talk freely about their experiences in two different rooms. The panels then share their personal stories about breakups, love, fights, hate and their different perspectives toward the genders. The show airs at 11:30 p.m. every Friday.

The Canadian romantic comedy ``Being Erica'' portrays the journey of a 32-year-old Erica who through comedic situations is out to find her ego. She is unemployed, has no boyfriend, and unlike her friends who are busy with dates and promotions in their careers, Erica has nothing exciting or successful in her life. One day, she gets an opportunity to go back to the past and correct her mistakes. Through this, she finds herself and changes the present and herself for the better. The drama was well received its female audience because of its soul-searching messages as well as comical elements when it was first aired in Canada. The drama is shown at 11 p.m. every Wednesday.

``We've prepared programs that can draw sympathy from contemporary women who have the same interests and worries,'' Yoon Ji-seon, a representative of the channel, said.

Elle atTV was launched in January this year by HEM Korea, the publisher of ELLE magazine. The channel covers fashion, the arts and culture targeting young women. For more information, visit www.elleattv.com.
