As BTS gears up for their first group comeback since completing military service, the world’s biggest boy band is spending its days not just in the studio, but also in the gym.

A new vlog posted Wednesday on fitness trainer Ma Sun-ho’s YouTube channel revealed that the members of BTS have been undergoing intense workout sessions in Los Angeles while simultaneously preparing their upcoming album.

Ma, who flew to the U.S. to train the group, shared a behind-the-scenes look at the group’s daily routine and their remarkable dedication to “building their best shape yet.”

“I didn’t come here for a vacation,” Ma explained. “The BTS members are working on their music in LA, and I’m here to help them train. I design workout programs, guide them through routines, and they’re all extremely passionate and hardworking.”

Early morning jogs, studio sessions and evening workouts

According to Ma, the group’s schedule is relentless. He begins his day with a jog at 6 a.m., followed by morning weight training sessions with the members before they switch gears to focus on music production. Some of them even return for a second round of workouts in the evening.

Footage from the vlog shows the septet training with impressive intensity, lifting barbells and pushing through grueling sets without showing fatigue. V even grabbed Ma’s phone to film part of the vlog himself, revealing his chiseled jawline mid-workout, while Jungkook turned heads by training shirtless — showcasing bulging muscles and prominent veins. RM and V cheered him on from the sidelines, counting reps and admiring his physique.

Friendly competition — and a rare day off

The members often hyped each other up and occasionally turned their training into lighthearted competitions. On the second day of filming, V joked that “Jeon Jungkook is faking an injury, so it’s just me and Kim Nam-joon (RM) shooting today.”

Ma also guided the group through rowing machine exercises, correcting their posture and sweating alongside them. “They work hard from early in the morning,” he noted. “Jungkook has a sore shoulder — he almost never skips workouts, but he’s taking a rare rest day today to recover for tomorrow.”

Comeback on the horizon

BTS is expected to release a new group album next spring, marking their first full-team project since all seven members completed their mandatory military service. The group has been based in Los Angeles since July, working intensively on new music and rehearsals for future performances.

The sight of the world’s biggest K-pop act back in training — both musically and physically — has fueled fan excitement online, with many noting how the group is “literally building themselves up” for their highly anticipated return.
