K-pop girl group aespa has successfully ended the Asian leg of its second world tour, "2024 aespa LIVE TOUR - SYNK : PARALLEL LINE," Sunday, and is now gearing up for their upcoming album release.
The four-piece act made the last stop of the tour in Bangkok, Thailand, holding two concerts on Saturday and Sunday at IMPACT Arena. The concerts were sold out on both days, gathering about 20,000 fans in total.
The members held a press conference with reporters on Sunday ahead of the concert, sharing their excitement about holding concerts in Thailand for the second time about a year after it held its first concert in the country.
They also gave a glimpse of their upcoming plans, as well as the behind-the-scenes stories of working on the music video for its first full-length album's title track, "Supernova," which was filmed in Thailand.
When the concert kicked off, the quartet performed a series of its global hit songs like "Supernova," "Spicy" and "Next Level." The stage featured a spectacular setup, including a 1000-square-meter LED screen, lasers, various special effects and a giant jungle gym set, along with a specially designed moving vehicle to bring them closer to the audience.
The Asian leg of the group's world tour featured 14 stops, including in Hong Kong, Macao, Japan, Indonesia and Taiwan. It held 27 shows after starting with a two-day concert in Seoul on June 29 and 30.

Following the tour, the group will release its fifth mini album, "Whiplash," on Oct. 21. The album will consist of six tracks featuring various genres, including the title track of the same name.
The new album comes about five months after the group saw massive success with the full-length album "Armageddon," which rolled out in May.
Its title track, "Supernova," dominated the Korean music charts, topping the weekly chart of the popular streaming platform Melon for 15 consecutive weeks, the longest record in the platform's 20-year history.
After the new release, the group will pick up its world tour next year. Its agency, SM Entertainment, announced forthcoming stops to its world tour on Friday, unveiling dates for concerts across North and South America and Europe next year. Starting with Seattle on Jan. 28, the group will visit a total of 14 different cities, including Los Angeles, Mexico City, Toronto, London, Paris, Frankfurt and Madrid.
"The second world tour is created based on a concept inspired by the group's expanded artistic universe into a diversified parallel universe. Through this world tour, aespa delivered an upgraded performance and an impressive scale of production that received high praise," the agency said in a release.
Aespa — comprised of Karina, Winter, Giselle, and Ningning — debuted with the song "Black Mamba" in 2020 and instantly shot to stardom as the latest girl group of K-pop powerhouse SM Entertainment.
The group has released a string of hit songs since then, such as "Next Level" (2021), "Savage" (2021) and "Spicy" (2023).
