Visitors exploring Korean artifacts at the British Museum are in for a special treat: audio explanations narrated by the members of K-pop icon NewJeans.
Ador, the agency representing NewJeans, announced Tuesday, through an official press release, that the group's five members — Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin and Hyein — volunteered to lend their voices for audio introductions to key exhibits in the Korean Gallery of the British Museum.
In the narrations, NewJeans introduces significant pieces such as a porcelain moon jar from the 1392-1910 Joseon Kingdom, a 14th century blue-and-white inlaid celadon vase, a mural depicting the Four Heavenly Kings of Buddhist mythology and a recreated 18th-century study room built using traditional Korean techniques.
The quintet also provided commentary on select Roman-British artifacts, including a bronze head of Emperor Hadrian.
The Korean audio tour featuring NewJeans' voices is accessible through the museum’s guide app.
"It's truly an honor and joy for us to be a part of showcasing the rich beauty of Korean culture through these artifacts," the members stated through the release. "We hope many will listen."
Meanwhile, NewJeans is gearing up for a musical comeback next Friday with its new album, "How Sweet." This anticipated release includes an eponymous titular track along with the pre-released hit "Bubble Gum," totaling four songs.
Following this, the group will debut in Japan with an album titled "Supernatural" on June 21, coinciding with a fan meet-and-greet event at the Tokyo Dome. The fan event highlighted the group's substantial global following, with tickets for the two-day event selling out immediately upon release.
