MONSTA X member Hyungwon officially confirmed his upcoming military service, scheduled to begin on Nov. 14, with a heartfelt letter posted on the group's official fan cafe site, Friday.

In the letter, Hyungwon conveyed his readiness for his impending service, stating, "I feel more relieved than sorry, having readied my heart while observing the enlistments of my fellow members."

In Korea, all able-bodied men are required to serve in the military for a period of 18 to 21 months.

He extended his gratitude to MONBEBE, the group's official fanbase, "I want to express my thanks, as your unwavering support has played a significant role in my ability to endure this brief separation," Hyungwon wrote.

The 29-year-old added, "My expected discharge date is slated for May 13, 2025 and I'm already looking forward to reuniting with you all on the following day. Let's meet again on that day with smiles!"

Hyungwon is the fifth member of MONSTA X to fulfill his military service obligations. The group's leader, Shownu, undertook alternative civilian service ending in April. Minhyuk, Joohoney and Kihyun are all currently in military service.

MONSTA X, which debuted in 2015 with the album "Trespass," has garnered recognition in the K-pop scene for their intense concepts and show-stopping performances. The sextet has released a string of hit songs, including "Love Killa" (2020) and "GAMBLER" (2021).
