Members of the now-disbanded project group Wanna One are set to heat up the music scene in April.
The first player in the starting lineup is Kim Jae-hwan, who is poised to release his third EP on April 7. Kim recently hinted on a radio show that he would include some songs featuring guitar.
“Kim will not only display his untapped side, but also his own music world through the fresh EP,” Kim's agency, Swing Entertainment, said in a statement.
On April 13, Kang Daniel is slated to return with new music, although details are being kept under wraps. In February, Kang swept multiple streaming charts with his single, “Paranoia.” The song's music video exceeded 10 million views on YouTube only 49 hours after its release.
A new album by Yoon Ji-sung, who was discharged from military service last December, will also hit shelves next month. But the release date has not been disclosed yet.
Boy band NU'EST, which includes former Wanna One star Hwang Min-hyun, is also set to drop a fresh studio album, about seven years after the release of its first full-length album, “Re:BIRTH.” The release date has yet to be announced.
Wanna One was formed on the second season of Mnet's fan-voted competition program, “Produce 101” (2017). Consisting of 11 top rankers ― Yoon Ji-sung, Ha Sung-woon, Hwang Min-hyun, Ong Seong-wu, Kim Jae-hwan, Kang Daniel, Park Ji-hoon, Park Woo-jin, Bae Jin-young, Lee Dae-hwi and Lai Kuan-lin ― the group unleashed a string of hits, including “Energetic" (2017) and basked in immense popularity until its official disbandment in December 2018.
