K-pop duo TVXQ held an online fan event Saturday to celebrate its 17th anniversary.
“2020 TVXQ! ONLINE FANMEETING with Cassiopeia” was streamed on Naver's Beyond Live channel, with SHINee's Minho emceeing the event. Both TVXQ and SHINee are represented by SM Entertainment.
TVXQ's Yunho and Changmin performed hits, including “Hug” (2004), “Tonight” (2005) and “The Chance of Love” (2018). The two also performed individually. Yunho rocked the stage with “Follow” (2019) followed by Changmin's performance of “Rise As One” (2015).
“Thanks to you, we have come this far,” TVXQ told fans. “It was nice to meet you ― although via an online stream ― on this meaningful day. We are planning to showcase various things next year.”
TVXQ debuted Dec. 26, 2003 as a quintet ― Yunho, Changmin, Junsu, Yuchun and Jaejoong ― and rose to stardom with a string of hits such as "Mirotic" (2008). In 2010, Junsu, Yuchun and Jaejoong quit the group following a legal dispute with SM Entertainment.
