Yoon Ji-sung, former member of now-defunct project group Wanna One, has been discharged from military after completing his 19-month mandatory duty in the Army band.
Yoon, 29, was officially discharged on Sunday, without having to return to his military base following his final leave due to COVID-19 concerns.
“I learned a lot of things during the service,” Yoon wrote on his online fan community. “I also had some difficult and lonely times, but I was able to overcome the period with your love and support. From now on, let's not get separated and stay together.”
Yoon's management company LM Entertainment revealed Sunday that the singer would meet his fans through various mediums and prepare for a new album but it did not specify a date for release.
Yoon became known to the public through the second season of Mnet's audition program “Produce 101” in 2017. He finished eighth which led him to join Wanna One ― a boy band consisting of 11 top rankers. After the group officially dissolved a year later, Yoon began forging a solo career and released his first album “Aside” in February 2019 before being enlisted in May of the same year.
