Yang Yo-seob, a member of K-pop boy group Highlight, has been discharged from mandatory civil duty, equivalent to the military service, Sunday.
The singer shared the news on his social media on the day, saying he has finished 19 months service.

“I still remember the feeling and emotions I went through as I saw my parents wiping their tears and fans showing support at the Nonsan training center,” he said, recalling the day he started the service.
Referring to the time as a movie, he said: “A year, seven months and a week was filled with a lot of difficult and happy moments … The time went by like a long, well-made movie.
“There are many people, who I'm thankful for, to list on the end credits of this movie,” he said, also expressing the gratitude to his fans.
Yang joined the National Police Agency on January 2019 as part of his mandatory duty. He served as a conscripted policeman at Gangdong Police Station.
He is the second member of the four-member group to complete mandatory duty. The group's leader Yoon Doo-joon was discharged last April.
Members Lee Gi-kwang and Son Dong-woon are serving as conscripted policeman with the agency.
Yang debuted in 2009 as a lead vocalist of the five-piece boy band BEAST, which was renamed Highlight in 2017. One member, Yong Jun-hyung, left the group earlier last year after rumors of involvement in an illegal video scandal.
