Former B.A.P member Moon Jong-up goes solo

Singer Moon Jong-up, a former member of disbanded K-pop group B.A.P, has decided to continue his musical career as a solo artist.
The singer's agency The Groove Company announced his solo debut Wednesday, saying “Moon will be releasing a solo album on May 7.”
It revealed that the album will be of the funk-pop genre, which is different from the R&B and electronic styles he performed in the group.
“Moon has put his best effort in making this solo album to prove his value to audiences,” the agency said.
Moon debuted as a member of the six-member group in 2012 with the album “WARRIOR.” The group released several albums and set off on its first world concert tour in 2014.
The band's international popularity grew in the following years, but it disbanded last year after two members ― Bang Yong-guk and Zelo ― left.
Moon has been on a break from music since the group disbanded.
