K-pop boy band BTS's global fandom ARMY has joined the donation drive to fight the coronavirus outbreak.
According to the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association, as of Sunday, the fans had donated about 400 million won ($331,483). More than 8,000 donations were made in the fandom's name.
The group's fans started to make donations after BTS's rapper Sugar donated 100 million won ($82,878) to the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association on Feb. 27.
The donations include refunds for its canceled concerts. The group's label Big Hit Entertainment canceled the BTS “Map of the Soul Tour ― Seoul Concert,” Feb. 27, which was originally scheduled to be held on April 11, 12, 18 and 19.
