Hongbin of K-pop boy band VIXX apologized on Sunday for taking a jab at fellow group SHINee while he was drunk.

While watching a gig of SHINee's 2013 release “Everybody” during his live stream on Twitch, a streaming platform for gamers, the singer commented, “Who on earth added this kind of idol's music to the band's sound. This is awful.”

Hongbin, 26, drank alcohol during the broadcast to celebrate his first anniversary on Twitch.

The VIXX member previously made a controversial remark about another band INFINITE and its flagship number “Be Mine” (2011).

“If I were an INFINITE member, I would have beaten up the choreographer for making dreadful dance movements for such a great song,” he said.

His latest words brought an immediate angry response. Fans of singers he criticized blasted him for his disrespectful words. The singer apologized on Twitch a few hours later, but still appeared drunk.

“I made a slip of the tongue. I am sorry,” he said. “I did not mean to belittle other idol bands. But please do not criticize VIXX, since it is all my fault,” he said as he shed tears. He added that he would leave the group if asked to do so.

Hongbin debuted as a VIXX member in 2012.
