K-pop boy group EXO's Kai and Jennie of girl band BLACKPINK have split up, according to SM Entertainment, which manages Kai.
“Kai and Jennie did split,” an agency spokesperson said on Friday.
The Korea Times called YG Entertainment for confirmation but could not get a response.
Before SM's confirmation, a report on Friday claimed the pair broke up only about a month after revealing their relationship.
It quoted a friend of Kai, who said the pair decided to split because they still have “lots of things to do.”
“They decided to focus more on their careers,” another source reportedly told the media outlet. “It seems like a choice for their teams, band mates and followers.”
The pair confirmed on Jan. 1 that they were dating.
Kai debuted as a member of EXO in 2012 with the mini-album ”MAMA” and shot to fame thanks to mega-hit song “Growl” in 2013.
Jennie recently debuted as a soloist with the single “SOLO.”
