Hyeyeon to leave K-pop group gugudan

Girl band gugudan's Hyeyeon will leave the group, citing health issues.

The group's management agency Jellyfish Entertainment said Thursday that Hyeyon, 18, had decided to give up her membership for “everyone's sake.”

"She made the decision after long discussions with everyone," the agency said in a statement. "She will take some time out from her music career because of health issues."

With her departure, gugudan now has eight members. The group is preparing to make a comeback on Nov. 6 with its third mini album.
