iKON's new release 'Goodbye Road' dominates major music charts

K-pop boy band iKON's new release "Goodbye Road" topped six major online music charts.
At 8 a.m. Tuesday, the day after its release, the song was No. 1 on Melon, Bugs Music, Genie, Olleh, and Soribada.
Their album, “New Kids: The Final,” on which the song is included, topped Apple iTunes album charts in 25 regions, including Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Greece, Hong Kong and Indonesia.
The song was also listed No.1 on two major Chinese music streaming services, including the QQ Music K-pop music video chart and Kugou music K-pop chart.
Their successful comeback comes despite an unsavory incident involving one of its members, Koo Jun-hoe, who enraged Koreans after supporting anti-Korean Japanese filmmaker Takeshi Kitano through controversial Instagram posts.
Since their 2015 debut, the seven-piece band enjoyed huge popularity with hit songs "LOVE SCENARIO" and "Rhythm Ta."
The song will be staged for the first time on MBC TV's "Show! Music Core" on Oct. 6.
