Ballad singer Park Hyo-shin dropped the lead track “The Other Day” of his forthcoming eighth album on Monday, an emotional song that tells the story about a breakup and the time after it.
Within 24 hours of the release, “The Other Day” topped major music streaming charts, including Genie, Bugs Music, Mnet, Naver and Soribada. It stood at second place on Melon.
His album comes two years after his seventh album “I Am a Dreamer” (2016). For this new album, Park co-composed and co-directed all of the tracks with Jung Jae-il, with whom Park composed the 2014 classic hit song “Wide Flower.”
All tracks will be released one by one, just like his five music video teasers were unveiled in serial order from April 24 to 28, according to his agency, Glove Entertainment.
The music video for the empowering, soul-baring track was directed by Kim Jong-kwan, a film director known for his works “Worst Woman” (2016) and “The Table” (2016).
