Legendary Italian composer-conductor Ennio Morricone will come to Seoul to perform at the Olympic Park Gymnastic Stadium in southern Seoul for the first time on Oct. 2-3.
His concert that was to be held here two years ago, was abruptly cancelled due to the incapability of an organizer at that time.
The 79-year-old virtuoso will bring more than 100 members of the Rome Symphony Orchestra and 100 chorus members to Seoul.
The most beloved Italian composer, especially noted for his film scores, has composed and arranged scores for more than 400 film and television productions, more than any other composer living or deceased.
His pieces such as ``A Fistful of Dollars'' (1964), ``For a Few Dollars More'' (1965), ``The Good the Bad and the Ugly (1966)'' and ``Once Upon a Time in the West'' (1968), have been frequently cited by many in the film industry as some of the greatest film scores ever composed.
For the concert in Seoul, he will perform the film scores from ``Cinema Paradiso,'' ``The Mission'' and ``Once Upon a Time in America,'' favorites of Korean fans.
Pianist Gilda Butta and Soprano Susanna Rigacci, who have taken part in Morricone's recordings of original sound tracks, will also join the concert.
After the Seoul concerts, Morricone will participate in the Pusan International Film Festival, which will kick off on Oct. 4.
