“Inside Men” has drawn more than 2 million viewers in just six days, a record for an R-rated film, distributor Showbox Mediaplex said Wednesday.
The previous record holder was the 2014 gambling film “Tazza: the Hidden Card,” which attracted 2 million viewers in seven days.
“Inside Men” reached 1 million viewers in just three days, and has set the record for the most-viewed R-rated movie in a single day -- 489,503 viewers. It also drew 1.6 million viewers in the first week following its release on Nov. 19.
“Inside Men,” starring Jo Seung-woo, Lee Byung-hun and Baek Yoon-sik, is a webtoon-based political thriller about a power struggle among a political henchman, a prosecutor who pretends to pursue justice, and an influential conservative newspaper editor blind for power.
