The popularity of Korea’s latest hit movie “Veteran” has inspired the team who made it to produce a sequel.
The movie’s director Ryoo Seung-wan and producer Filmmaker R&K were quoted in media reports that they have already agreed to make a sequel. They haven’t yet decided the details of the forthcoming production, including whether the original film’s main actor Hwang Jung-min will join the cast.

Ryoo is currently looking for material to include in the sequel and create another villain who must be more evil than Cho Tae-oh (played by Yoo Ah-in) in the original.
“The sequel will revolve around real social issues that many people will relate to,” Ryoo was quoted as saying.
Filmmaker R&K’s insider also said that the sequel will likely hit theaters within two to three years.
The original movie features tough and moral Seoul police officers fighting for social justice against a rebellious heir to a powerful conglomerate.
