Inspired by the true story of Daniele Mazet-Delpeuch, who was appointed as the private cook for former French President Francois Mitterrand, the film tells the delightful tale of Hortense Laborie (Catherine Frot), an acclaimed French chef, who is plucked from her bucolic home by the French President (Jean d' Ormesson) to work as his personal chef.
