Actress Kim Tae-hee has reportedly made a whopping 7.1 billion won ($6.37 million) by selling her property in Seoul's Gangnam District, thanks to its increased value over the past few years.
According to New 1, a local news agency, she sold the five-story building in Yeoksam-dong for 20.3 billion won in March 25.
She originally purchased the building in June 2014 for 13.2 billion won. In nearly seven years, its value soared by 7.1 billion won.
After purchasing the building under her name, she transferred ownership to her property rental firm in 2018 to more effectively manage rental fees from the tenants, most of whom operated small-scale commercial businesses inside the building like restaurants and massage parlors, according to News 1.
The building is in proximity of Gangnam Station, a landmark in the center of one of Seoul's busiest areas.
Kim is married Rain, one K-pop's most successful artists and an actor who appeared in several Hollywood films between 2008 and 2013. Rain also owns a building in Gangnam's Cheongdam area, reported to be worth over 46 billion won post-renovation, a massive hike from its 16.8 billion won price in 2008.
