Rapper Swings has been blasted for deliberately causing mayhem during a performance at a Seoul school that led to students being badly injured.

The musician, 33, was performing in a gymnasium at Jeonghwa Arts College in Seoul's Jung-gu on Wednesday. He was one of several artists invited there for a campus party, according to witnesses who posted information about the incident on the school's community website.

The online recount of the commotion said fences had been erected between the stage and the audience but Swings said “fxxx the fences,” telling the crowd to come forward. This led to a stampede that injured several students and caused light stands near the stage to topple.

The party MC and event organizers came on stage to stop the rapper from inciting the crowd further. But the star ignored them, telling worried associates that he “will talk to whoever gets hurt and take care” of them.

As the rapper continued the show, the frenzied students piled on one another as those at the rear kept pushing forward.

One of the witnesses said that although at least five students were taken to hospital after sustaining broken legs, Swings did not stop the gig and never attended to the aftermath.

The school told online news outlet Insight that Swings' manager was going to contact it regarding the incident but had not, as of Thursday morning.

Twitterians posted photos of the incident site and the injured students, criticizing Swings for being irresponsible.
