Prosecutors are seeking six years in prison for Hwang Min, 45, the husband of actress Park Hae-mi, 54, after his alleged drunk driving killed two people in August.
Prosecutors said on Nov. 28, that they had asked Uijeongbu District Court to hand down the sentence, saying it was not the first time Hwang had been involved in drunk driving.
The court will rule on the case on Dec. 12.
The bereaved families have refused to settle; without a settlement, experts say, Hwang is expected to end up with a prison sentence.
On August 27, Hwang crashed into a 25-ton truck parked on the side of a road. Police say he was heavily drunk with a 0.104 percent blood alcohol level ― higher than the license revocation limit.
Two passengers in his car ― actor Yoo Dae-sung, 33, and a 20-year-old aspiring actress ― were killed.
