Actor Jung Suk-won gets suspended jail term for drug use

Jung Suk-won, actor and singer Baek Ji-young's husband, was sentenced to 10 months behind bars with on Thursday ― suspended for two years ― for using illegal drugs earlier this year.

In February, police arrested Jung at Incheon International Airport on his arrival from an overseas trip, for using methamphetamine at a club in Melbourne, Australia.

"His drug usage seems to be a one-off misconduct done out of curiosity," Seoul Central District Court said in the ruling.

"We took into consideration that Jung does not have any prior criminal record in relation to drugs and he deeply regrets his behavior."

Jung is best known for his roles in the drama series “Rooftop Prince” and “Haeundae Lovers.” He and Baek married in 2013.
