LG Electronics said Monday that it can help households reduce consumers’ heating costs with its energy-efficient heater/air conditioner Whisen.

LG released a new Whisen model titled F-W165DALW equipped with advanced high-efficient technology, lowering heating costs in the winter. This model is designed to offer more than 40 degrees Celsius of heating.

A wide range of functions – from air conditioning and electric heating to air purification and dehumidifying – makes it useful at anytime of the year.

The powerhouse in consumer electronics enforced its design, too. Applying glass with wavy lines on the front of the product, it blends well everywhere, in living rooms, offices, restaurants and shops.

With the new product, LG extended its Whisen lineup to eight – one standing and seven wall-mounted – offering more choices for consumers. All of the eight models are credited with first-class energy-efficiency, reducing electricity costs for households.

The average electricity fees for a LG Whisen wall-mounted heater/air conditioner marks 25,000 won per month, one 14th of a general heater thanks to its state-of-the-art high energy-efficiency inverter presser.

Thanks to the functions, sales of Whisen doubled in October from a year ago as more and more customers rushed to buy heating machines at low costs during cold weather.

The new Whisen heater/air conditioner followed its legacy of the nation's best air conditioner product. LG has been an innovator in the premium home appliances market, and its air conditioners launched ahead of this summer showed how far it has come in terms of technology.

"Whisen Son Yeon-jae Special," one of the models LG introduced to the market this year, exhibited how the company pushes the boundaries of imagination. Son is a popular female rhythmic gymnast.

Whisen Son Yeon-jae Special reminds users of the gymnast with its sensuous design and “magic window” system that generates “healthy” air flow. The air conditioner features a magic window system equipped with an LED with a 250 millimeter slim design.

It is also praised for generating clean airflow free of harmful bacteria and viruses. The product is also highly energy-efficient. The company said the magic window brings up the image of a window of a cabin in the Alps, meaning air generated by Whisen Son Yeon-jae Special flows into a house as if it blows from the forest.
