McKinsey & Co. appoints 3 new partners in Korea

McKinsey & Co. announced the promotion of three associate partners from its Korea office, the global consulting firm said Thursday. They are An Yu-jin, Yeom In-ji and Lew Jeong-hwa.

An leads McKinsey’s electric power and natural gas practice in the Seoul office. With over a decade of experience in the energy sector, she has a comprehensive understanding of the critical challenges and evolving needs associated with energy transition.

Leveraging her extensive expertise, she has successfully advised a broad range of clients both within Korea and globally, helping them navigate business transformation and identify new growth opportunities.

She helped develop a global market entry strategy for offshore wind equipment manufacturers. Her other works include advising an energy developer on mid- to long-term growth strategies and business models for renewable energy and energy solutions.

An also identified energy storage system opportunities and developed a U.S. market entry strategy for a power equipment manufacturer. She led a corporate-wide transformation across for one of the world’s largest refineries.

Prior to joining McKinsey, she worked in corporate strategy and new business development for Doosan Enerbility.

Yeom is a leader in McKinsey’s Asia semiconductors practice with deep expertise across the full semiconductor value chain, including foundries, equipment and materials companies.

She advises global clients on strategic and operational topics ranging from technology road map planning to advanced packaging innovation and postmerger integration.

Yeom co-leads the firm’s work in advanced packaging and is a co-author of the article “Advanced chip packaging: How manufacturers can play to win.”

She has supported major clients across industries in large-scale transformation efforts, with a focus on capability building, digital enablement and cost transparency.

Yeom holds a Ph.D. in material science from the University of Oxford, where her research focused on ternary semiconductor nanocrystal synthesis for optoelectronic devices.

Lew leads QuantumBlack, McKinsey’s artificial intelligence (AI) specialist division in Korea.

He has experience in growth strategy, postmerger integration operations and digital transformation projects for global leaders across the semiconductor and electronics value chain.

Lew has led enterprise-wide AI transformations, revenue growth management, and sales and marketing strategy projects for leading consumer goods companies in Korea and abroad.
