KB Financial Group held the KB Tech Forum to share know-how and growth strategies regarding the group’s businesses in the tech, data, artificial intelligence (AI) and digital sectors, the group said Monday.

Among the over 200 attendees were Chairman Yang Jong-hee, firm executives and IT employees. The event was held at KB Kookmin Bank's headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul, Nov. 24.

The forum was first held in October 2021 to fortify the group’s competitiveness in operating financial platforms.

This year’s event was titled as the “KB Tech Forum for Young Leaders” to nurture the younger generation, followed by sessions on sharing the experiences and knowledge of platform developers.

Yang said that the IT and digital sectors will help push the bank’s business to the forefront.

“We need to shift our perspective to prioritize non-face-to-face business models instead of face-to-face. Customer experiences should be improved accordingly. More IT and digital experts should be nurtured to strengthen their capabilities," he said.

“In the era of working with artificial intelligence (AI), it is important to spread a culture whereby both technology and developers are respected, and convergence and integration experts are fostered for the sustainable growth of KB Financial,” a KB Financial official said.

“KB Financial will continue striving to establish and enrich a corporate culture of learning, sharing and growing.”

Meanwhile, at the forum, a new technology booth was installed, enabling users to experience new technology services provided by KB Kookmin Bank and KB Securities and share their opinions.
