Standard Chartered (SC) Bank Korea's Plus Mile credit card has gained attention from consumers for its hefty mileage benefits.

According to SC Bank Korea, Wednesday, Plus Mile Card holders can earn frequent flyer mileage up to 3 miles per 1,000 won ($0.89) spent with Korean Air and 3.5 miles per 1,000 won with Asiana Airlines.

“According to a local jobseekers' portal, 65 percent of the nation's jobseekers said the balance between work and life is more important than high salary when choosing jobs,” a SC Bank Korea official said.

“When we talk about trends about the balance between work and life, traveling is the first thing they would do during holidays. The SC Bank Korea Plus Mile Card targets such demands.”

For Korean Air mileage, Plus Mile customers can choose either Visa or Union Pay. Those who spend less than 500,000 won per month with the card are given one mile per 1,000 won.

Cardholders who spend more than 500,000 won and less than 2 million won with the card per month are given two miles per 1,000 won. Those who spend more than 2 million won per month are given three miles per 1,000 won.

For Asiana Airlines mileage, the customers can also choose either Mastercard or Union Pay for their Plus Mile cards, and those who spend less than 500,000 won per month with the card are given 1.3 miles per 1,000 won.

Those who spend more than 500,000 won and less than 2 million won per month are given 2.5 miles per 1,000 won while who spend more than 2 million won per month with the card are given 3.5 miles per 1,000 won spent.

The card's benefits also include a 70 percent discount from exchange commission in major currencies such as U.S. dollar, Japanese yen, Chinese yuan and euro.

SC Bank Korea Plus Mile Card holders are also allowed to use travelers' lounges in the nation's three major international airports _ Incheon, Gimpo and Gimhae _ up to three times a year.

The card will be available to customers until July, and those cardholders who spend more than 30,000 won will be given a free Starbucks Americano coupon by the end of next month.
