Sales of imported cars by engine capacity

About 53 percent of imported cars sold in the first four months of this year had engine capacity of 2,000 cc or less. The sales of foreign vehicles with low engine capacity accounted for only 26.2 percent of the total in 2008. An official at the Korea Automobile Importers & Distributors Association attributed the increasing popularity of small imported cars to young motorists preferring to drive low-cost, compact vehicles.
