Aon Hewitt is a global management consulting firm with expertise in human resources. It is keen to know and lead in people issues in organizations, and therefore it has decided that one of the hot highlights is the performance of emerging workforces.
We have Emerging Workforce Solutions as consulting practice, while we have our own internal program for diversity and inclusion which is widely recognized as one of the premiere diversity programs globally.
On March 2011, we formed a new organization, the Korea Diversity Council (KDC), which is organized to lead and perform effective “Diversity and Inclusion” programs. Lee Hawley, president of Doosan, and Kris Park, CEO of Aon Hewitt in Korea, are the co-chairs of the council.
KDC has selected members of the executive committee, including Tony Gomes, vice president of LG Electronics and Christin Jang, Asia-Pacific manager of DuPont. KDC has about 50 regular members besides the committee, including SC First Bank, Johnson & Johnson and Samsung Electronics among others.
Korean companies that are active globally and thus have to manage a global workforce are keen to improve their people issues through understanding their diverse talent.
KDC pioneers the activities of diversity and inclusion for Korean companies to achieve globally recognized business success by attracting, engaging and retaining diverse talents. Our mission is to make Korea an inclusive and innovative place to work.
At the same time KDC has five objectives. Firstly, we will identify common priority issues faced by members. Secondly, we will research and define a range of solutions. Thirdly, we will provide access to subject matter experts. Fourth we will facilitate members to share knowledge, skills, know-how and best practices of diversity. Fifth we will help members to develop their cross-cultural competence and talent management expertise.
