LG Electronics’ free ad-supported streaming television, LG Channels, has begun its service in the United Arab Emirates, with plans to expand to other Middle East nations, the company said Tuesday.

According to LG Electronics, the LG Channels service is now available for users of LG TVs running on the webOS platform in the UAE. Depending on the software version, the service will become accessible for a growing number of users.

This marks LG Channels' expansion into the Middle East following its rollout in Asia, North America and Central and South America. Along with the UAE, the service has also launched in Taiwan, bringing the total number of countries it is available in to 36.

In the UAE, LG Channels will stream Lovin Dubai, which provides local news and lifestyle content, WATCH IT, an on-demand service for Arabic content, as well as Bloomberg TV, Euronews and various sports, entertainment, movie and documentary channels.

Responding to strong interest in Korean content in the region, the platform will air channels focusing on Korean sports, culture and entertainment programming, such as K-Baseball TV, Arirang TV, @K-Music and K-ASMR. Before launching the service, LG Electronics last month participated in 2025 K-Expo UAE: All about K-Style to promote the service.

The platform also features an interface optimized for right-to-left reading, accommodating Arabic-language users.

In Taiwan, LG Channels has partnered with local platform ofiii to stream terrestrial TV channels CTV and CTS, as well as economic news channel SET iNews, movie channel LTV and other content.

Along with Korean sports and music channels, the service will also provide Korean TV shows including Good Partner, a 2024 legal drama featuring Jang Na-ra and Nam Ji-hyun.

LG Channels began its ad-supported streaming service in 2015 for LG’s smart TV platform webOS users, offering more than 4,000 channels catered to each region’s preference. The number of TVs supporting webOS recently surpassed 260 million.
