LG Display said Monday it won two CES Innovation Awards with its automotive display solutions, including a dual view monitor capable of presenting different images to the driver and the passenger depending on their positions.
The Consumer Technology Association, the organizer of the world’s largest tech show CES, awarded its CES 2026 Innovation Awards to LG Display’s Dual View OLED and Under Display Camera–infrared (UDC-IR) OLED. The technologies were recognized in the In-Vehicle Entertainment category for maximizing space efficiency, delivering high image quality and meeting key standards for safety, reliability and durability.
The Dual View OLED is the world’s first in-cabin OLED solution that presents different images depending on the viewer’s position. This allows the driver to view navigation while the front-seat passenger watches a movie or streaming content on the same screen. When installed in the back row, passengers can watch separate videos at the same time.
By optimizing the pixel structure, the Dual View OLED ensures that when one person touches and controls their screen, it does not interfere with what others are viewing. This allows carmakers to offer more personalized entertainment experiences without installing additional displays that would take up limited space.
The UDC-IR OLED is the world’s first full-screen display that hides a driver-monitoring camera beneath the panel. For the technology, LG Display engineered the display to increase light transmittance in the camera area and designed algorithms that make the camera zone indistinguishable to the driver, while LG Innotek, a component affiliate, supplied a high-resolution infrared camera and image-correction software.
As in-cabin sensing technologies that monitor a driver’s condition continue to advance, a growing number of markets are expected to mandate the use of driver-monitoring cameras for safety. By hiding the camera under the display, the technology gives carmakers greater design freedom.
LG Display has won other CES Innovation Awards since participating in the tech show’s mobility section. In 2023, it was recognized for its film-type speaker, which can be attached directly to display panels, and won a 2024 award with its 57-inch pillar-to-pillar LCD, the world’s largest automotive display made from a single panel.
At CES 2026, LG Display will set up a booth for mobility solutions at Las Vegas Convention Center and open a separate zone for its clients at Conrad Las Vegas at Resorts for large OLED solutions.
