Krafton is set to introduce its new mobile game Dark and Darker Mobile internationally this year with an aim to diversify its portfolio, which currently relies heavily on its multiplayer online battle game PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS, the company said Friday.
The games company recently released a new teaser trailer for Dark and Darker Mobile, which is being developed by Bluehole Studio.
Krafton described the genre of this new mobile game as an extraction role-playing game, allowing users to delve into dungeons while fending off threats from fearsome creatures and other players.
Krafton is aiming for a global release of Dark and Darker Mobile within this year. To enhance the game's quality. The company announced it will soon conduct its first large-scale beta test.
"This test, the first of its kind worldwide, will be conducted in Korea only for five days from April 24 to April 28 and will be accessible on Android OS-based mobile devices," a company spokesperson said. "Krafton aims to globally launch Dark and Darker Mobile within the year, and plans to first gather a variety of opinions from domestic users through this test.”
Krafton plans to meet users' expectations for a mobile game in the extraction RPG genre, based on its experience in the global mobile games market, while also speeding up its market entry.
In a teaser video of the game, Krafton showcased the core escape-focused gameplay of its new game and new gameplay system. For instance, the company introduced a Sidekick system, allowing users to recruit AI-controlled companions to help them during their dungeon adventures.
“These sidekicks are powerful companions that can help you level up. Players can also take advantage of the pet system, which grants various buffs before entering a dungeon,” the company said.
