LG Innotek is offering internships to foreign students studying in Korea for the first time in a bid to strengthen its recruitment of global professionals, the materials and components arm of LG Group said Monday.
The company said the internship is open to international students who are in their third or fourth year at a university in Korea or in a master's or doctoral program. The company added preference will be given to Vietnamese, Chinese, Spanish, Polish and Indonesian speakers.
Those who completed the internship program with excellence will be given a chance to become a full-time employee after undergoing an interview, LG Innotek said.
The company said the students in the internship program will be able to gain hands-on experience in various departments, such as R&D, marketing, production technology, business planning, finance, purchasing and HR from July 20 to August 17.
LG Innotek plans to assign mentors to foreign students to help them experience Korean corporate culture and organize various networking events to help them integrate into the company.
As the company does business in global markets as well as in Korea, LG Innotek operates various internship programs, including a program for Korean students studying abroad and another one for students at major state-run universities across the nation.
“We will actively recruit global professionals who can contribute to the company's innovative growth. We will continue to create differentiated customer value by strengthening our business competitiveness by securing diverse talents,” Jeong Cheol-dong, CEO of LG Innotek, said.
