Samsung SDS partners with US firm ServiceNow

Samsung SDS said Tuesday it formed a partnership with U.S. software firm, ServiceNow, to offer enhanced services for clients, boost collaboration in new digital technologies and find business opportunities in the global market.

Samsung SDS CEO Hwang Sung-woo and ServiceNow Korea's Managing Director Kim Kyu-ha signed the partnership at the former's headquarters in southern Seoul, Tuesday.

ServiceNow develops a cloud computing platform to help companies manage digital workflows for enterprise operations.

Based on the partnership, the two entities will assist in the digital transformations of client companies by offering services that link Samsung SDS's solutions with ServiceNow's platform.

Samsung SDS, the IT service affiliate of Samsung, and ServiceNow will also strengthen collaboration in new digital technologies such as natural language understanding, which is a subtopic of natural language processing in artificial intelligence (AI). In addition, the two companies plan to seek new business opportunities with global firms.

"Based on our collaboration with Samsung SDS, the two companies will provide expertise via a team dedicated to projects here, and offer a modernized workflow platform to accelerate client firms' digital innovation and enhance business value created in technological investments," Kim said in a press release.

"Based on this strategic partnership, we will actively assist the digital transformation of client firms and expand our global-tier cloud-based solution and services," said Stanley Kang, Samsung SDS executive vice president and head of the IT innovation business division.

Samsung SDS offers solutions utilizing advanced analytics platforms, AI and blockchain technologies to serve clients in a range of sectors, including financial services, smart manufacturing, global logistics and retail. The ICT arm of Samsung Group has operations in 30 countries worldwide.

ServiceNow was named by Forbes magazine as the world's most innovative company in 2018. The Santa Clara-based company has operations in 27 countries.
