SK Broadband (SKB) has been working to enhance customer convenience by diversifying its latest entertainment offerings through restructuring its B tv services ― now with the new slogan “Lovely B tv.”

As a first step, the company has analyzed user data through artificial intelligence (AI) and digital transformation technology to select five key services that will be consecutively introduced within this year.

B tv is not an ordinary internet protocol television (IPTV) service, but the company hopes the rebranded “Lovely B tv” could boost its popularity as a platform for families with its diverse content and increased convenience of viewing on mobile devices.

To better launch the Lovely B tv era, SK Broadband plans to go through numerous upgrades including in its user interface, movie monthly package, the launch of its mobile platform, and enhanced ZEM services for children and senior citizens, which were marked as B tv's five major services.

The over-the-top (OTT) platform has implemented a media viewer trend that allows the user to easily find the videos of their choice. It also changed the color setting for the menu and content search category to dark blue to be more eye-catching and convenient for users.

The premium monthly plan for B tv users will be renamed “OCEAN” due to its abundance of content and services.

When subscribing to the OCEAN service the monthly fee is all inclusive ― no additional charges ― and subscribers can view local and international movies and programs.

Before the changes, the monthly plan excluded the latest movies and customers were required to pay an additional fee to watch them.

Over 11,000 movies and 17,000 episodes of both local and international dramas are available and SKB has made a name for itself for providing the most content as compared to local competitors.

The OCEAN service offers movies that have debuted within the last year. The platform has showcased 90 percent of hit movies including from Disney and Warner Brothers over the last decade. This is the biggest difference between other local IPTV and OTT service providers and a major strength of SKB's service.

To enhance customer convenience, B tv's video on demand (VOD) service will be available via the mobile B tv app.

A vast number of mobile VOD programs are scheduled to be added including content for children.

“Our goal is to make our company and media platform a place of fun and happiness,” an SKB official said. “We will focus our efforts on creating a strong foundation for the growth of the newly launched Lovely B tv.”
