NHN Payco started launching a discount promotion for Payco users paying with “Payco Points” at the local Apple App Store, the company said Friday.

Until June 15, according to the campaign, NHN Payco provides discounts of 3,000 won for payments of 10,000 won or more, to users who pay all in-app payments and paid app payments with “Payco Points,” including the latest games such as Netmarble's “A3:STILL ALIVE” on the Apple App Store. The discount only applies to the first payment within the period.

All payment users also could get 2 percent basic rewards when paying with the points system in addition to promotion discounts. Two percent of the payment amount will be rewarded as points without limit, and the accumulated points can be used for the next payment.

“Users need to select Payco Points as the payment option in their Apple ID account settings, and then they can use the payment after they complete the account linkage with Payco ID,” it said in a statement.

NHN Payco is aiming to provide more “convenient payment experience and substantial benefits” to Apple users, having applied its in-house points payment service to local Apple paid services such as App Store, Apple Music and iCloud. The company applied an “Automatic Top-up System” that allows users to top-up the required amount directly from the connected bank account without a separate top-up process when an insufficient amount of Payco Points are available.

“With COVID-19, demand for mobile content is increasing as the time spent staying at home increases. We paid attention to this trend and initiated this promotion to help users enjoy a comfortable mobile life,” company CEO Jeong Yeon-hun said in a statement. “We hope that many users will enjoy a simple and smart consumer life by taking advantage of the discounts and point rewards offered by Payco.”
