Cafe24 formed a partnership with Kakao to provide e-commerce merchants with big data marketing, the company said Tuesday.

Under the partnership, Cafe24, an online shopping platform provider, will integrate its e-commerce platform with Kakao Talk's easy registration, an enterprise service for new member registration and marketing activities.

Kakao Talk is the nation's most popular messenger app operated by Kakao.

The agreement will enable online store merchants to provide their customers with easy registration and log-in services through their Kakao Talk accounts. Also, targeted marketing using customer big data will accelerate online business growth.

“Customer acquisition and marketing made easy through Kakao Talk will help drive e-commerce sales,” Cafe24 CEO Lee Jae-suk said. “Cafe24 will continue to provide various services so that merchants can conduct effective marketing and become more successful.”

Kakao Vice President Shin Seok-chul said, “Kakao Talk's easy registration service is very convenient for online merchants and consumers alike,” adding that the strategic partnership with Cafe24 will let many businesses increase their marketing efficiency and obtain a foothold for business growth.
