LG Innotek has completed the development of the Nexlide-L, an ultra-thin line lighting module for vehicles which emits bright and uniform light from the module's 3-millimeter-wide apesture , the company said Monday.
It is the thinnest among exterior automotive lamps, according to the electric parts manufacturing subsidiary of LG Electronics.
The company has already completed quality and mass production tests, it said, noting that it is ready to supply customized designs in accordance with orders.
“The Nexlide-L is a lighting module that can enhance the design, quality and safety of a vehicle at once,” an official from LG Innotek said. “Car manufacturers and drivers will be satisfied with the high-quality lighting component.”
Automotive lighting is an element that is redesigned for every new car developed. It increases road visibility and indicates a driver's intention to turn or brake, being directly linked with safety.
LG Innotek implemented its proprietary LED lighting structure design technology to realize the ultra-slim line lamp Nexlide-L, it said, adding that the cutting-edge technology makes the original dot-shaped LED light shine uniformly in a line or plane shape.
The color and brightness of the product can be customized according to its application and mounting position, the firm said.
Automotive lighting can be designed in a variety of ways to produce, for example, a red light for brake lamps and center high mount stop lamps, yellow light for turn signal lamps and side-view mirror lamps, and white light for position lamps.
