Samsung C&T's Resort Group will hold the Everscape Forum, Dec. 7, to discuss the trend and outlook of “smart cities,” one of the core key phrases of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the company said Tuesday.

The forum will take place at EL Tower in Seoul under the theme of “Smart city, Smart future.”

Policy developers, industry leaders and experts as well as students will participate in the event to discuss the direction of the smart city development.

Samsung C&T Resort Group, which operates Everland amusement park and Caribbean Bay water park, said it is holding the forum in a bid to raise people's interest in the smart city concept and explore diverse business ideas.

The infrastructure of a smart city such as roads and buildings is integrated with cutting-edge technologies, including artificial intelligence, and collects information. Such information is utilized in a variety of areas such as transportation, environment, welfare and tourism, enhancing competitiveness of the city, the firm said.

Technologies can be applied to self-driving cars and environment pollution monitoring systems.
