Big calling for SKT's 'Golden Numbers'

Telecommunications giant SK Telecom is distributing phone numbers that are easy to remember and the competition for them is hot.
Called “golden numbers,” they can replace the last four digits of one’s phone number.
The numbers include 49 types, such as AAAA (all the same digits), AAAB (same digits except the last one) and ABAB (two digits repeated).

or any T World sub agencies until May 29.
Currently, 4999 is the most popular, with the competition rate of 2,800 to 1. Phone number 010-4999-4999 is the only number provided that uses the same four digits twice.
Specialized businesses have also joined the competition to get the numbers. Number 2424, which reads “move move” in Korean, is popular among moving companies. Number 4444 is often sought by funeral aid services since fours in Korean pronunciation coincide with a Chinese letter meaning “die.”
Results of the applications will be posted on the T World direct website and sites of T World sub agencies on June 3. Successful applicants can change to their new numbers from June 3 to 24.
