Infrastructure software provider TmaxSoft said Thursday that it has released a new database product that is highly compatible with applications currently depending on Oracle’s database.
The newly introduced TIBERO database system is cost-effective, as it is less expensive to use than the Oracle product.
TmaxSoft spokeswoman Lee Ji-hye said customers and clients who want to switch to the TIBERO database from Oracle can pay fees on a subscription basis, which will help them save costs.
“Promotional campaigns will be continued throughout the year,” Lee said, adding that the release of the product is in line with the corporate strategy to break into the database segment dominated by Oracle for decades.
“Due to high costs, customers are reluctant to use Oracle. We believe the subscription-based TIBERO will be a good alternative and hope the product will awaken idling demand for database products,” she said.
Customers currently using Oracle who want to switch to TIBERO during a limited period will be fully covered by TmaxSoft to transfer their data.
During the contracted period, customers who switch will receive maintenance support by TmaxSoft, free of charge.
“The subscription-based product is only for customers using Oracle,” said the spokeswoman.
