Harman International Korea introduced new earphone and headphone products under its JBL brand in the Korean market, Tuesday.

The company said the 11 new models have been designed not only for everyday indoor use but also for outdoor activities, optimized to provide quality listening experiences with Bluetooth and advanced noise-cancelling technologies.

“While we focused on improving splash-proof functions of our audio devices last year, we have established a full product lineup optimized for sports and outdoor activities with Bluetooth and noise-cancelling technologies,” Harman International Korea President and CEO Kim Han-jun said during a press conference in Seoul, Tuesday. “We will continue to provide upgraded products that maximize customer convenience.”

The JBL Everest series offers Bluetooth headphones with ergonomic earpiece design and an embedded microphone that can minimize echo. In particular, the Everest Elite 300 and 700 models have noise control functions and TruNote technology that automatically adjust sound by controlling the paired earcups, the company said.

The JBL Reflect Mini, Grip and UA Headphones Wireless have eartips with an ergonomic design concept called “Twistlock.” This technology prevents eartips slip out of the user’s ears, making them more fit for dynamic sports activities, the company said. The UA Headphones Wireless, in particular, have been jointly developed under collaboration with U.S. sports apparel brand Under Armour and has wearable device functions such as bio-information monitoring.

Harman International Korea was established in 2005 as a local subsidiary to the Harman Group, which holds leading makers of premium car audio systems and consumer audio devices such as AKG, Harman Kardon, Infinity, Lexicon, Mark Levinson, Revel and JBL.

Aiming at boosting its premium brand image, the company has operated the Harman Brand Store in Cheongdam-dong, southern Seoul, for four years.

“We are also closely working with diverse retail changes such as major department stores like Lotte and Galleria to solidify our premium image in the domestic market,” Kim said.
