A hacker who attacked servers of the Korea Hydro and Nuclear Power (KHNP) and stole information on reactors demanded money for not handing over sensitive information to other countries, Thursday.
The hacker, who used a Twitter account under the name of the anti-nuclear group president in Hawaii, posted some files on the social network service, which have been known to include documents about the nation’s nuclear power plants.
“Need money. Only need to meet some demands. Many countries from Northern Europe, Southeast Asia and South America are saying they will buy nuclear reactor information. Fear selling the entire information will undermine President Park (Geun-hye)’s efforts to export nuclear reactors,” the hacker said in the posting.
