A Russian newspaper carried a story on some former U.S. presidents’ experiences of unidentified flying object (UFO).

Based on archives, which were declassified on June 17, Pravda reported that American presidents during their tenure were interested in UFOs and extraterrestrial intelligence issues, and some of them even had the chance to make contact with aliens.

In 1948, President Harry S. Truman (1884-1972) summoned his aide Robert Landry to his office. Truman ordered him to make a report on the flying saucers observed over the country every three months.

CIA agent Gerald Haines said that in July 1952, the Truman administration was disturbed by a "wave of UFO sightings over the United States." There was even an order to shoot down unidentified flying objects, Haines said Ronald Reagan (1911-2004) also observed UFOs when he was a governor. It happened when he was on a plane.

A reporter Norman Miller recalled that later, Reagan appeared to be obsessed with aliens. In 1985, when Reagan held a five-hour private meeting with Mikhail Gorbachev, Reagan said if there is a threat to the world from some species from another planet, “we” can forget all little differences on the globe.
