Hypernova destroyed all alien life

Despite years of searching, there has been no confirmation of life beyond our planet. Scientists call this lack of evidence as the “Great Silence.”

But now some astronomers believe the answer may lie in the destructive force of exploding stars and claim ET may simply have been wiped out, the British Daily Mail reported Wednesday.

In particular, a phenomenon known as a white dwarf hypernova could have sucked alien life into a black hole. The process happens when a large white dwarf star becomes unstable and explodes. Since this seems to have occurred several times over millions of years, it is possible that life may have wiped out more than once.

Scientists also believe there is a possibility human beings on Earth too could be wiped out by the process of gamma ray bursts. These intense radiations could perhaps destroy the ozone layer.

“It is possible this could occur soon. However, such an event is very unlikely to occur in the next few hundred years,” said Dr Edward Sion from Villanova University in Pennsylvania.

초신성 폭발로 외계 생명체들 종말

수년간의 연구에도 불구하고 아직 지구외에 생명체들의 존재 여부를 알 수가 없다. 과학자들은 이러한 현상을 “거대한 침묵 (Great Silence)”이라 부른다.

최근에 몇명의 천문학자들은 별들이 폭발하면서 발생하는 위력을 견디지 못하여 외계 생명체들이 없어졌다는 주장들을 영국 데일리 메일지가 23일 보도.

특히 백색왜성 초신성 폭발때문에 이들은 꼼짝없이 블랙홀 안으로 빨려 들어갔다고 한다. 이 현상은 큰 백색왜성이 불안정해지면서 폭발하면서 나타나는데 수 만년간 여러 차례 일어났을 가능성을 보면 과학자들의 주장이 맞다고 할 수 있다.

그들은 또한 지구인들도 이 현상으로 생성되는 감마선 폭발로 위협을 받을수도 있다고 했다. 감마선 방출이 지구의 오존층을 파괴할수도 있다고 믿기 때문이다.

“조만간 일어날 수도 있습니다. 하지만, 이러한 일은 앞으로 몇 백년 뒤에야 일어날 것이다,”라고 펜실베니아주 Villanova University Edward Sion 박사가 말했다.
