Hanwha is taking part in FIDAE 2026, Latin America’s largest defense exhibition, presenting an integrated portfolio of land, sea and space solutions as it seeks to expand its presence in the region.
Hanwha Aerospace is displaying a full-size TIGON 6x6 wheeled armored vehicle equipped with a remote-controlled weapon station, alongside scale models of the 4x4 and 8x8 variants to highlight the platform’s adaptability across missions and terrain.
The company is also promoting the K9A1 self-propelled howitzer and K10 ammunition resupply vehicle as a packaged artillery solution tailored for the Chilean and broader Latin American markets.
The Chunmoo multiple rocket launcher, including its upgraded performance improvement program launcher and various munition types, is also featured. In addition, the firm is showcasing the Korea-Next-generation Infantry Fighting Vehicle, Korea-Medium Fire Support Vehicle and the TAipers anti-tank guided missile.
Hanwha Systems is presenting a compact synthetic aperture radar satellite with 0.25-meter resolution capable of all-weather, day-and-night observation. The satellite is paired with the company’s aritificial intelligence (AI)-based imagery analysis solution designed to enable faster and more accurate tactical decision-making. The company is also introducing its “Smart Battleship” concept, a naval command platform built to operate alongside unmanned systems in real time, featuring stealth design, an AI-driven combat management system and a cockpit-style Integrated Bridge System. Its submarine Combat Management System, which applies AI across the engagement chain from target detection to strike, is also on display.
Hanwha Ocean is exhibiting the 3,000-ton-class Changbogo-III (KSS-III) Batch-II submarine, the 2,000-ton-class OCEAN 2000 submarine and 4,000-ton and 5,600-ton frigates. The OCEAN 2000 is optimized for South American operational environments, while the KSS-III is a diesel-electric submarine capable of operating submarine-launched ballistic missiles. The company said the showcase will support marketing efforts tied to Chile’s naval programs and help expand its local network.
"The group aims to position itself as a trusted strategic defense partner for Chile and the wider Latin American region by offering solutions spanning land, sea and space," a Hanwha official said, adding that the company seeks to build long-term partnerships based on a clear understanding of the country’s security needs.
