Korean Air wraps up 2025 with community outreach

Korean Air has wrapped up the year by reaching out to communities through activities including giveaways, meal services, performances and the renovation of overseas public facilities.

The company currently operates 25 employee volunteer groups that engage in community activities. The employees conduct various social contribution initiatives here and abroad as part of the airline’s environmental, social and governance management.

Most recently on Monday, employees of the company and its subsidiary airliner, Asiana Airlines, held a joint donation event at Gangseo Fire Station and Geon Christian Children’s Home in western Seoul. They delivered 350 upcycled keyrings with a safety alarm feature and pouches repurposed from retired cabin crew uniforms and in-flight tablecloths.

From Dec. 19 to 26, Korean Air’s employee volunteer group, Yonhap Shinwoohoe, visited an agricultural region in Elpitiya, Sri Lanka. The team assisted with facility renovations at a local community center and shared gifts with students in the area.

On Dec. 19, the company’s employee choir, KE Choir, hosted a charity concert at Deungchon Comprehensive Social Welfare Center in Seoul’s Gangseo District. In addition to a musical performance, the group provided winter supplies to local senior residents.

On Dec. 6, the company’s cabin crew volunteer group, Dasom Nanum, hosted a year-end event for residents at Holt Ilsan Center in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province. The program featured recreational activities and performances, specially prepared meals and gifts for the residents.

Korean Air said it will continue to expand its social contribution programs to support the communities it serves. The airline added it remains dedicated to leveraging its resources and personnel to drive positive social outcomes and maintain strong community ties worldwide.
