Major online game developer Netmarble is rolling out a heap of new games to cement popularity it has accrued with back-to-back hits RF Online Next and Seven Knights Re:BIRTH, released earlier this year.

For the eight upcoming games, Netmarble strategically diversified their game platforms and genres. Introducing multiple games originally developed as its own intellectual property (IP), the company also aims to prove its creative content competitiveness.

Six of the games are scheduled for release later this year. They are King of Fighters AFK, Vampir, Mongil: Star Dive, The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin, Project SOL and Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive.

The company has also announced its plan to release StoneAge: Pet World and Project Evilbane without announcing specific dates.

Netmarble said it hopes to debunk a sentiment in the industry that it excessively borrows outside IP, as it is introducing Mongil, StoneAge and Vampir, all based on the company’s own IP. The company previously proved its IP marketability with RF Online Next and Seven Knights Re:BIRTH.

With the rest of the new upcoming games based on outside IP, Netmarble said the new releases “balance themselves with our own IP and outside ones that have been proven successful.”

The diversified genres of the new releases also mean diversified playing styles that will add more fun, the company said. While Vampir and Project SOL are massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPG), The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin and Mongil: Star Dive have been designed to attract fans of “subculture.” Project Evilbane is a new co-op action game, a genre that has recently enjoyed particular popularity.

Some of the new releases can be played on more than smartphones. The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin is the first Netmarble game that supports computer, mobile and console play. The company said it will release the game for each device simultaneously. Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive is now under development to optimize for PC and console, the company added.

“We wanted to attract more game fans by diversifying genres, balancing IP copyrights and introducing multi-platform play. It will lead to more fun and new experiences,” a Netmarble official said.
