Korean biopharmaceutical companies are aiming to strengthen their outreach to global clients and potential partners at the upcoming BIO International Convention 2025, the world’s largest bio and health care industry event, better known as BIO USA.
Organized annually by the U.S. Biotechnology Innovation Organization, the event serves as a global networking platform where pharmaceutical and biotech officials explore partnership opportunities.
This year’s convention will take place from June 16 to 19 at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, featuring exhibitions, conferences, partnering sessions and other programs that offer insights into the future of the bio industry.
According to industry officials, approximately 80 Korean pharmaceutical and biotech companies will participate in this year’s event, exploring opportunities to form partnerships and deals with global pharmaceuticals. Major firms including Samsung Biologics, Celltrion, Lotte Biologics, SK Biopharmaceuticals and Kolon Life Science will attend the event.
Samsung Biologics will mark its 13th consecutive appearance at the event by setting up a standalone booth to promote its expanding contract development and manufacturing capabilities as well as its new facilities and services.
The company will highlight its biopharmaceutical production capacity of 784,000 liters per year, showcasing its latest Plant 5. It will also convince its clients about its expanded manufacturing and development portfolio, including multi-specific antibodies and antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) services.

Celltrion, which has been attending the event every year since 2010, will also set up a standalone booth to engage with client companies to promote its biosimilar and ADC pipeline.
Through these meetings, the company aims to grasp the latest developments in emerging modalities while seeking potential partnerships with global big pharmaceutical firms to expand its pipeline of ADCs and novel antibody treatments. Also, the company will promote its end-to-end capabilities across the entire pharmaceutical value chain, covering R&D, clinical trials, manufacturing, regulatory approval and sales.
Lotte Biologics will also operate a standalone booth. It plans to hold a number of meetings with potential partner firms, including pharmaceutical firms and biotech ventures, to promote its contract manufacturing capability. The company will promote the launch of its ADC production facility at the Syracuse plant in the U.S. and share its roadmap for the first plant in Incheon, which is scheduled to start commercial production in 2027.
Kolon Life Science is also preparing meetings with potential clients to license out its drug pipelines and present a road map for its contract manufacturing business. The company said it will introduce two key pipeline candidates including KLS-2031, a gene therapy for neuropathic pain, and KLS-3021, an anti-cancer gene therapy.
Along with individual companies, KoreaBio, a federation of Korean biotech, will also set up a Korea Pavilion at the event in collaboration with the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency.
CHA Vaccine Institute, a subsidiary of CHA Biotech, will set up a booth at the Korea Pavilion to promote its pipeline through investor relations events.
